Adam Powley is course leader in sports journalism. Adam is an award-winning author, national newspaper journalist and editor. He has reported and written for the Sunday Mirror, The Times, The Guardian and Time Out. He is the author of over 20 history and sports books.

Alice Fox works in inclusive performance and the visual arts alongside socially excluded groups, in particular people with learning disabilities and older people. She has delivered inclusive arts projects for Tate Exchange, The National Gallery and The British Council in Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea, Vietnam and Nepal.

Craig Higgins is subject lead in fashion, textiles and 3D design. Craig has worked with Sonnentag Mulligan, John Galliano, Emma Cook and Roland Mouret. Craig has taught at undergraduate and postgraduate level and holds a Brighton Student Experience award for his teaching across fashion design, creative pattern cutting and garment manufacturing.

Jonny Lochland is course leader in film. Jonny is a writer and director working across short films, music videos and feature projects, creating projects that often centre around LGBTQ+ stories and communities. Jonny’s films have been screened and distributed internationally including at the London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival (now BFI Flare), Cannes and New York.

Facilities

Experiment in multi-purpose studios equipped with lighting rigs, a sound booth, specialist sound equipment, recording and editing suites, TV studio with green screen and a dedicated photography area. Or use our high-spec camera equipment, darkrooms, performance space, screening rooms and music studios.

Our expert technicians are practising professionals who are on hand to guide and support you in developing your practice in our creative facilities.

On this course you will develop the art of making engaging imagery and film for digital platforms, through mediums like photography, illustration, animation and AI – the creative opportunities are almost infinite. In addition to your degree, you will take the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) Diploma in Journalism, a recognised qualification for professional practice.

Working on projects set by external partners helps you understand how creative ideas develop in a professional context, from initial concept through to final presentation. You’ll build practical skills, learn how to communicate your ideas clearly to clients and develop a portfolio of work.
