STOP 6: BRIGHTON SPORT AND HEALTH COMPLEX

The sport and health complex houses course facilities such as the strength and conditioning suite, exercise rehabilitation gym, large hangar space for gymnastics and cricket and a dance studio. It also has plenty of facilities for extracurricular activities, including a gym, spin studio and swimming pool and is surrounded by outdoor grass football pitches, a floodlit synthetic turf full-size pitch, floodlit non-slip netball and tennis courts and outdoor grass rugby pitch. There are a range of university sports clubs and casual drop-in sports sessions, offered at a low cost to students and run by Sport Brighton.

Swimming pool

The swimming pool is used by some sport students during lessons and is also available for leisure use.

Gym

Students with a gym membership can use the new Falmer facilities plus those at the Moulsecoomb campus.

Dance studio

The dance studio hosts a range of exercise classes as well as being used by students as part of their studies.

Strength and conditioning suite

The suite has a traditional gym set up but also a range of specialist equipment such as force platforms.

The Club House

Café and socialising space.

The Hangar

A flexible space used for gymnastics and various sports for leisure, competitive sport and study.

Outdoor pitches

Falmer has lots of grass and synthetic flood-lit pitches and courts for a range of different sports.
