OUR ENTRY REQUIREMENTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS
DEGREE PREPARATION COURSES AT OUR INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE
If your student doesn’t meet our entry requirements for their chosen course, they have the option to join our University of Brighton International College (UBIC) for a degree preparation course.
These are pathway courses that prepare students for a related undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University of Brighton. Studying at UBIC will improve students’ academic skills and subject knowledge.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
We accept a wide range of English language tests and regularly review these to ensure we are competitive. The level required depends on what type of degree students have applied for – undergraduate, postgraduate taught or research degrees.
Students will need to have taken and passed the test within two years of starting their University of Brighton course.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
We know that it can be expensive to study in another country, which is why we have a number of scholarships for international students.
Our Vice-Chancellor scholarships are automatically awarded to students from South and South-East Asia, Africa, LATAM, the EU, MENA and Turkey. These scholarships offer up to £5,500 for eligible bachelors students and £2,500 for eligible masters students.
Students from other regions can apply for our International Office scholarships, which offer the same tuition fee discount.

Professor Donna Whitehead, Vice-Chancellor
The Vice-Chancellor international scholarships have been designed to have a positive impact on students’ studies and enable more students with global perspectives to study at Brighton. We know that when different perspectives come together, brilliant new thinking happens – and that’s why it’s so important to create a student community that’s inclusive and diverse.

Juan Vargas, Management (International) MSc graduate from Colombia
Receiving a scholarship enabled me to study at the University of Brighton. I’m so grateful to study my masters degree here and be able to make the most of academic opportunities, my career prospects and building my community in the UK.
